Patterns

I still seem to find it hard to pick up any 1940s patterns or maybe its just that there is so few of them a round and there is many people looking for them.Ebay has some but am making this my last resort as they can be expensive.Then on another thought if i mixed sleeves and necklines i could come up with fresh ideas from patterns i already have.
On the up i have made a good dent in my christmas shopping and another plus i have been busy wrapping it up a few more things to get and wrap then just my cards to do and am done.

Its been so long

Well i have had some time away from sewing and writing and must say i do miss my 1940s styles so am back and i have been bust catching up on my fav blogs my happy sewing place and casy mustangs not i have to decide what id like to sew up next ! how has everyone been.

I have just watched this film Glorious 39 loved the fashion not sure i got the full story so ill have to watch it again soon.

Am back

It has been ages but am now back. one thing for sure i cant say it was the sunny weather that kept me away lol. how is everyone?

Belt it...

Hi how is everyone today the sun is out. I think that makes us all happy
Todays task is to try and mend a belt that i got its the buckle the front part seems to be missing its a slip through so there is no pin dose anyone know what i could use  to fill it in or any ideas what can be done with this??

I was on the blog by handmade jane she dose make some lovely goods i love the fact that she had the little lables. I think its a must that i get my hands on some of them.

Is spring here at last....?

Well we had snow on tuesday sunshine on wed and today we have so far had rain and now sunshine so i now think spring might just be round the corner. so on that note dose anyone know how to work out a colour table?? i have seen this on a few blogs but am not sure how its done.
Also going to a ww2 show this afternoon this should be fun :-)  and i also think i might hit town before the show and see what i can thrift.

Far Far Away

Right now i wish i was in another country with a total remake of friends .
Do i sound ungreatful? i think i do but this is how i feel. and no i havent fell out with anyone i just want a change even if its just a holiday a weekend away a day away .

Its been to long

It has been far to long. i really must blog more ofter i hope to get this under control soon as i have cut my hours at work to give me more time of so thats a good thing.
Going to a show next week called We`ll meet again should be fun.
Havent got much done on the writing front for a while so i need to spend time on this .
Sewing  well i have started on a dress will let you know how it comes out and i also want to start scrapbooking so am trying to get information on the best type of paper to use ect. so it is all go thank goodness for less working hours and hello to great creations.

Skirt done

Well i have finished the skirt that i was working on i will try and get a photo up asap am really pleased with it so i have now decided to make a dress out of lovely satin material its in a dusky rose colour so ill keep  you up to date on how it works out.
Anyway in the mean time i have some writing to do.

BARGIN

Got some great bargin fabric out of charity shop to day also i just had to buy a book to add to my ever growing collection and also my magazines that i had bought had arrived in the post so am off now to go study them and decide what fab item am going to make next.

I have managed to get hold of some back issues so my sewing machine will soon be humming along again.
Writing front is kind of slow cant grip the words for the story i want to work on but i keep getting new ideas for other storys. So all in all the only thing i seem to be writing is notes for future storys i am not a 100% sure if this is a good thing or not.

Bidding war

Ok as for now Ebay and I are no longer friends bidding war on patterns is no fun. I have spent last few days trying to grab a few that i like at a fair price but nope i keep being out bidded.
so i went to the shops and bought my self two pairs of shoes red lip stick and red liner :-) just to cheer me up if anyone has any ideas for a good dress 1940s style let me know my sewing machine is sad just now need to find somthing amazing to cheer it up.

Weekend

Havent meet my goals for the week almost though. so am not going to be to hard on myself i ended up down town this afternoon Whsmith i must learn to avoid really but i saw a few books that id like to get so ill nip back on payday am sure they were on a buy one get one half price but as i looked them up online it said buy one get one free now that dose sound like a deal.
On the other hand am still trying to find a good place for fabric and patterns i did manage to find a bargin in a local charity shop of some pink cotton not sure what i will use it for but ill place it in my stash am sure it will come in handy.

Roll on free time

I have a busy week at work am on split shifts this week. I have almost finished the 1940s retro top that i have been working on hope to have it done by friday and then to find somthing else thats catches my eye. mind you i just received my Simplicity catl so i will have a little look in there later to night.
on the writing front still battling on with the research that i need to do.

Progress

With christmas been and gone santa had been very good to me and left me some gifts of books and yes (note books) lol. i am half way through The children of freedom by Marc Levy and i must say for me its a cant put down book great reading.
On the writing front its in progress taking notes looking things up ect all based on a dream i had and yes set in 1940s.
so yes i have lots to be getting on with as much as id love to stay and chat.
